About Silva - Philanthropist “The dream of every mother is to raise a child who is healthy and safe and can pursue his or her education so that each can be empowered to reach their potential. I believe that when one is blessed with gifts and talents and is able to live a healthy and wealthy lifestyle, a personal responsibility to give back to the community and empower others to fulfill their dreams is as rewarding as personal achievement”. Silva began Passions & Dreams funding, Inc - a 501( c) 3 non-profit organization in 1998 in order to empower at risk women and children to secure safe housing, self-esteem and financial independence so that each one can have hope to reach their potential in life. www.passionsdreams.org Silva’s humanitarian and global presence is witnessed by her involvement in : Ø International Woman’s Forum based in London Ø Youth Empowerment Summit of the United Nations Ø Employment Development Department Ø Salvation Army Ø Upward Bound Ø Weingart Center Silva’s recent philanthropy includes: Ø Raising money for inner city kids with 100.3 radio station. Ø Organizing a toy and school supply drive for Iraqi children with local schools & parents. Ø Developing and producing a series based on presenting positive role models for troubled students through the public schools called-- ”Gang of Hope”. Ø Producing and facilitating a youth life development program - "The Sky's the Limit" after school training for schools and youth centers.
